A change of season makes for a change of looks. If you’re a fan of the fall, no doubt that you’ve already started putting in your carts the warmest of sweaters and the cosiest of coats to face the lowering temperatures… While the autumn-winter trends are taking over your wardrobe, we thought we’d give you a few tips on how to dress your interior design to keep it warm and cozy in the comfort of your home. Let’s get to it.

Maries Corner’s choice for the season: the VIRGINIA look
Tired of your old grey couch? Well, you should be. First tip of the day: you will never loose by choosing a natural colour for your furniture.
A beige, terracotta or a camel tone will light up the room and make your home feel at home. Hand made by our talented craftsmen, Maries Corner’s VIRIGINIA sectional sofa is a great example of how a natural colour can turn the mood around in your safe place.
Besides, this hand-stitched craft wonder is a great fit for a large space that demands to be dressed to impress with subtlety.

Recreating summer in your living room
The beautiful artistry of the Viriginia finishings aside, as well as its flexibility – provided by its versatile sections and add-on daybed and coffee table – its soft beige translates as an invitation to stretch the summer forever in the privacy of your home.
We found that recreating the Indian summer feel in your living room was a very efficient way to manufacture the relaxing atmosphere of a season always gone too soon.

Keep your summer glow on all year round
To that end, why not go for a terracotta orange shade on the walls, recalling the warmth a vibrant sunset happening right in your living room.
A comforting colour and feel that are also responsible for giving your skin the perfect glow regardless of the season. A special Maries Corner effect noticed by our clients who spent some time testing the VIRGINIA corner at our Brussels shop.

Fall-winter accessories: the do’s…
We can’t talk about autumn without perusing through our selection
of cozy accessories for the season.
To keep it classy when it comes to combining colours, remember this: terracotta, beige, crème brûlée, black, safran and camel are 6
colours you can mix and match as you please. Have a look at how we paired the VIRIGINIA sectional sofa with pillows that happily play with those tones.
The hints of yellow bring a subtle splash of freshness to the
picture, which you could give an echo to by choosing a fabric that includes some of that safran-yellow tone for your poufs.

…. And don’ts: thou shall avoid a total look
If you’ve managed to go through 2020 without a fashion fauxpas, do yourself a favour and keep the tackiness away from your interior design as well.
To do so, the mantra is : stay subtle. If you dream of a velvet couch, go for it but make sure you stay away from other luxurious fabrics, such as silk or more velvet, to complete that look.
Choose a ‘drier’ fabric for your pillows, carpet, plaid and keep the bling out of your paintings and other decorative items as well.

The painting’s on the wall
And it says it all. At least, all you need to know to recognize the character of your personal space, hence yours.
What you hang on the wall is not only the opportunity to add another splash of colour, it also says a lot about how quirky you can and want to be. Note here that we settled for a couple of contemporary framed photogaphs with, again, hints of that safran-yellow we love. Mirrors, used as frames and assembled as a piece of art, also help creating some extra depth and reflections in the room.

Feet in the sand… or carpet
As we have said before, make sure your carpet does not outbid your sofa.
To complete the VIRIGINIA corner look, we opted for a large rug, made of natural and orange ropes. A perfect cover for your floor regardless of the season.

Feel like adding something?
With this interior look, you’re pretty much set to enjoy some sweet
seasonal homey times. But we know that some of you will ask for more.
That’s why we would like to introduce to you a piece of our collection that has received unanimous love lately: the CARMEL armchair. What makes it special is its special Pierre Frey fabric from the Shanghai collection.
High-end finishings and a beechwood frame put a graceful end to this fine piece of craft.
In barely 25 years’ time, Marie’s Corner imposed itself
as a referential brand in the sofa universe.
